About this game
How fast are your reflexes? The Reaction Time Test measures it in milliseconds. The pad starts red. After a random wait it turns green, and you tap as fast as you can. Do it five times and the game shows your average. A lower number is a better score, so this is one game where small really is beautiful.
How to play
- Tap the blue pad (or press Space) to start a round.
- Wait while the pad is red. Do not tap yet.
- The moment the pad turns green, tap it as fast as you can.
- If you tap too soon, the round restarts without counting.
- After five rounds you get your average reaction time in milliseconds.

Tips
- Focus on the pad, not on your hand. Your eyes should stay still and wait for the colour change.
- Rest your finger lightly on the pad, ready to move a very short distance.
- Do not try to guess the timing. The wait is random, so guessing will mostly make you tap too soon.
- Play on a device with a fast screen and a wired mouse for the most accurate results.
- Being rested and alert matters. Your times will usually be slower when you are tired.
FAQ
What is a good reaction time?
Many people land somewhere between 200 and 300 milliseconds. Under 200 ms is very fast. Your device, screen and connection add a small delay of their own.
Why is a lower score better here?
The score is your average reaction time in milliseconds, so a smaller number means you reacted faster. Your best score is the lowest average you have achieved.
Is the Reaction Time Test free?
Yes. It is free to play in your browser, with no download and no account.
Is it a medical test?
No. It is a fun game for comparing yourself to your earlier results. It is not a medical or professional measurement.
